Our Organic Turmeric Cut & Sift is an all-natural, aromatic herbal tea. The turmeric used has a minimum 2% curcumin content and the botanical name is ‘Curcuma Longa’ – a plant in the ginger Zingiberaceae family. It’s a plant native to Southeast Asia and is grown commercially in that region, primarily in India.
Although turmeric is available in both fresh and dried forms, the turmeric ‘spice’ comes from the dried roots of the plant. It’s this underground stem (the rhizome) that is commonly used in culinary spices, herbal cosmetics and traditional medicines.
Our cut & sift turmeric is also made from whole, organic, fresh turmeric rhizome. It is sliced, dried and crushed into granules which are dark orange / yellow in colour.
