Dubbed the “superfood of the Andes” Maca root traditionally popular amongst the indigenous population as well as being a modern day superfood.
Cultivated in spring, Maca is a small root vegetable from the Maca plant grown at altitudes over 3500 metres. Traditionally integrated in the nutrition of natives, the Maca root has evolved into a modern day “superfood”. Maca has a rich malty flavour that combines well with cacao and can be used as an ingredient to smoothies and baking.
Hand selected for the best quality, the Maca root is cleaned in natural water, and then dried. The temperature application breaks the starch molecules promoting its easier digestion and bio-availability of other nutrients in Maca.
This small but mighty root veg is high in potassium and fibre, and a good source of Vitamin B6 and Magnesium.
