Cardamom is one of the oldest spices in the world, and it comes from the Elettaria cardamomum plant. The plant is a member of the Zingiberaceae family, which also includes ginger and turmeric. Cardamom pods contain small, black/brown seeds that are used to make the spice.
Our organic cardamom cut and sift is an all-natural, aromatic herbal spice that contains both the pod’s shell and seeds. It is made by simply crushing whole, dried cardamom pods into small pieces.
